In the past few weeks, I’ve been itching to make some art journals and notebooks. I love to assemble random papers and bind them into a little work of art. I try to use different types of binding, like the one in the second photo: I marked all the papers so they would fold and then stitched the stack together with twine. It’s a good way to use the thin long pieces of paper left from other projects. Now, I just need to decorate the covers a bit and these journals will go in my shop.
Au cours des dernières semaines, j’ai eu l’envie de créer des journaux artistiques et des cahiers. J’aime assembler différents papiers et les relier ensemble pour créer une petite oeuvre d’art. J’essaie d’utiliser différentes méthodes de reliure, comme celle vue dans la deuxième photo: j’ai marqué tous les papiers pour qu’ils plient puis j’ai cousu la pile ensemble avec de la ficelle. C’est une bonne façon de se servir des papiers longs et étroits provenant d’autres projets. Il ne me reste qu’à décorer les couvertures un peu et ces journaux iront dans ma boutique.
