Peace

At our last art journaling club, we were playing with textures: acrylic modeling paste, textures gels, dimensional paints, etc. I love texture but for some reason, I rarely put a lot of it in my art journals. I guess I don’t like having too many bulky pages.

This page was started during our club and I finished it a few days later at home. I drew/painted the face without even thinking too much about it. She’s far from being perfect but then again, no one’s perfect! I love how she came out and I love the colours on the page. This was a fun exercise and I’ll probably do more pages like this.

I hope your Monday is starting out well. Mine is a bit crazy this morning but hopefully things will settle down.

Be well!

News from the artist’s den

just be

Almost 4 months since I last wrote… So much for getting back to the blogging habit…

I have no excuse, as always.

The school year ends in less than 2 months and let me tell you, I’m really looking forward to my summer vacation! Not that I have anything planned. And not that I don’t like my job. Because I do. Love my job, that is. But it has been a trying year at work.

Art wise, I’ve been creating in small bursts. My mother and I attend an art journaling club every month (except for this month) where we make a double-page spread with that month’s technique or supplies. It’s fun to be surrounded by like-minded artists.

Today’s photo is from my “doodle” journal. Following Joanne Sharpe’s book, I doodled and coloured a positive message to myself. There will be more for sure.

I also wanted to let you know that Hanna is celebrating her 10th year of blogging so hop on over to send her happy thoughts!

On that note, I’m wishing you a lovely week.
