Today, I decided to play with my watercolor paints. I’ve been inspired by my friend, Ceecee as well as Coco Bee, two wonderful artists from Montreal. If you don’t know them, visit their pages or their YouTube channels here and here.
The watercolor set I use is an old one from Pelikan that I bought almost 20 years ago. I also use a few Twinling H2Os as accents. Here, I splattered some Egyptian Gold on the abstract painting and some Mango Freeze on the tree’s foliage. For the abstract, I used more of a wet-on-wet approach where you wet the paper before adding paint. The outer splatters are on dry paper. The tree was an experiment. I like how it turned out but I might try something a bit different next time.
Are you more abstract, whimsical or realist when it comes to painting? Personally, I love creating abstract and whimsical art but I’m not very good at realism. If you have any recommendations for watercolor artists to follow, feel free to leave them in the comments.
