“From small beginnings come great things.”
A new year, a new beginning. In my little creative world, it means a new project. A new chance to get back into the habit of daily art, daily creativity. 2017 was a strange year for me for many reasons but I won’t talk about it here. This is not the platform for it. I want to keep this blog focused on creativity, on art and all the good things that come with that. The only thing I’ll say about 2017 is that it helped me to better understand myself, who I really am.
Anyway, on to 2018. Once again, inspired by Hanna and Tammy, I’m back in the blogging world and hopping on the Project 365 Somethings train. My goal is to use as many rubber stamp as I can during the year. I have way more than enough as you’ll soon see (Hanna suggested I do a video to show my collection and, well, I will!) And as if I didn’t have enough, I spent the whole month of December carving my own little collection for Carve December (you’ll also get to see those soon if you haven’t already on Instagram or Facebook.)
For my first project, I went with a simple card design using three stamps, one of which is text. I don’t know which company they’re from. I picked two inks and cardstocks which are old Stamping’ Up! colours: Pacific Point, and Kiwi Kiss. And that’s basically it! I made two cards instead of one because I wanted to layer the stamps a bit differently.
I won’t be making only greeting cards this year because I think that it would quickly get boring. I plan to also use my stamps on postcards, tags, art journal pages, mixed media pieces and whatever else I come up with along the way. And I doubt that I’ll blog every day but I’ll definitely make an effort to come back once a week at least.
On that note, I wish you all a Happy New Year and may 2018 be filled with health, love and creativity!
