>Tshirt Patchwork

> Leftover pieces from cut-up t-shirts. Some stitching and embroidery by hand. I will keep embellishing some of the squares and then will probably turn this into a pillow. Or had squares all around and turn it into a small blanket. Time will tell… Advertisements Continue reading >Tshirt Patchwork

>Mason jar pincushion – Pot Mason pique-épingle

>  I have seen pincushions made from canning jars on the web before and have been wanting to make my own ever since. It wasn’t too difficult but I had to wait for the glue to dry between each step. I just eyeballed the whole thing. And since this is my prototype, it’s not perfect (I don’t even like the colours I used) but it does the trick. I will probably do another one and decorated it in a way I like better. I’ll let you know if I do.

> I haven’t played in my felt journal in a while so I thought I’d get back to it this week. It sort of looks like a landscape but really, I was just trying some new stitches and this is what it now looks like.

> Inspired by all the “grid action” I made this page for the felt journal. Had fun playing with different stitches. I’ll show a better picture after I stitch this page to its back. Keeping it short today: I spent most of the weekend with my mother and my grandparents + I’m setting up the laptop that my father bought me.

> She “hearts” her cat. I decided to go with fabric/felt pages to fill the journal I made last week. And this is my first one. I thought this journal would be a great way to practice my hand-stitching. So I’m trying stitches I’ve never done before. Like the chain stitch for the heart. And the half-backstitch for the word “son.” The purple lace at the bottom is from a stash that was given to me by my boss’ mother. The head bead was made by my own mother with Sculpey clay and a mold. And I’ve had the cat …

> Yesterday, I suddenly had the urge to do some hand-stitching and make a fabric journal cover. I decided to use felt because I have tons of it. I started by cutting two cardboard pieces 5-1/4″ x 7-1/4″. Then, I cut two pieces of felt in orange and two in yellow, about a half inch bigger than the cardboard on all four sides. I cut the pieces for the sun out of the leftovers from one of the yellow sheets. I stitched the sun on one layer of felt as well as the two triangles at the top. I sandwiched …
