Tangrams

First things first… I’m having computer problems these days so this will be my last blog post until said problems are resolved but you can always see my daily art on Facebook or Instagram. Second, even though my blog title says tangrams, I’m starting with a mandala that I made yesterday. Third, here are some tangrams my students made during our fine motor activity. I printed the shapes from this website on cardstock and cut only around the square they formed. I had the students work on their scissor skills by cutting the pieces on their own. I noticed that … Continue reading Tangrams

Weekend update

Lately, it is becoming difficult to create every single day. Not because of time but because of inspiration. See, officially, today is day 297 of my daily art project. But really, I’ve been creating daily art since November 1st of last year. That’s a lot of arts and crafts. And coming up with what to do next gets harder and harder. But I’m no quitter so you might see a lot more zentangles, mandalas and line drawings than anything else because that’s all I can come up with these days. And on that note, here are my creations from Friday, … Continue reading Weekend update

Weekend update

Another busy weekend has come and gone. And here are my creations from those days: a zentangled pumpkin, a scratch-art mandala and some watercolor hand lettering. Mom and I went shopping on Saturday and found the small scratch-art notes and we just had to have them. I’ll probably bring a few at school for my students to play around but mostly, they’re for me to play with! Have a nice week! Continue reading Weekend update

Arts and cats

Today, I didn’t have time to take photos during my fine motor activity but we did a few basic models of origami. The kids did really well and I hope we have time to do more before our session ends in November. I guess you’ll have to settle for my art instead! (wink wink) Anyway, yesterday being a holiday, I had time to play a little more and did just that in my art journal. Some paint, collage, more paint… and I ended up with a lollipop flower of sorts. And today, a small mandala. Drawing is really my go-to … Continue reading Arts and cats

Weekend update

I was out of town for part of the weekend and I only brought my small Moleskines, a pen and a pencil to create so I made a Zentangle on Friday night and a mandala on Saturday. The Zentangle looks a bit like a monster to me. Today, I didn’t have a lot of energy so I simply made a mixed media greeting card that I’m sending with ATCs for a swap. That’s it for today. Thanks for visiting! Continue reading Weekend update

Doodling and Lego patterns

Let’s start today’s post with the fine motor skills portion. We had fun playing with Legos and following patterns I had printed off of the internet. I found the alphabet here, the color towers here, and the other models here. Oddly enough, they had a harder time with the color towers than the letters or other models. And I don’t know if it was because they were more excited but this was the first time that my fine motor activity was really noisy. I might have to figure out a different way to do it with the next class. And … Continue reading Doodling and Lego patterns

Weekend update

I had a very rough emotional weekend and I don’t feel like writing a long post today so I’ll keep it short and simple. Friday night, I drew a mandala on a pre-painted background in my art journal. It’s not my best mandala but it’s there nonetheless. Saturday was a quick continuous line drawing because it was late. And finally today, a trio of ATCs, which are available for trade if anyone’s interested. I hope your weekend was quieter than mine! Continue reading Weekend update
