Groovy album

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been buying supplies and keeping them for “that special project” that just never seems to come around. I’ve been like that for ages but for the past two years, I’ve been trying to downsize my stash. I mean, how much stuff do I really need??? Not that much, really. And certainly not so much scrapbooking paper!

So, yeah, I dug through my piles of pretty papers and picked a collection I really loved but knew I would never find the perfect project for it. Until today that is. I made a mini scrapbook out of 6 sheets of patterned paper and some fabric tape.

Here’s my groovy album:

The papers are from the Love Bug collection by Pinecone Press. To make the album, I simply cut all sheets i half to make them 6″ x 12″. The, I folded them i half, except for one piece which I cut in half again to have two pieces of 6″ x 6″. Each folded folio is glued on one side to the back of another sheet. For the cover, I used my two square pieces and joined them with fabric tape wide enough to create a spine that accommodates my pages. And that’s it! A groovy 6″ x 6″ album that can be used for scrapbooking or even as a mixed media journal.

Lost and found

Mini album MC

So I got lost for a little while there. But fear no more, I found my way back. In fact, when I woke up (way too early) this morning, I declared today to be “Take back my life” day. What better way to do this than getting back to this little blog of mine which used to be such a big part of my life. And I have to say, I miss it. A whole lot! I actually have quite a few things to show you on here but we’ll start with the album above…

This is a travel mini-album that I created out of envelops and file folders for a friend so she could put photos of her trip to Europe. It took quite some time to make this beauty but I loved every single minute of it. The hardest part of the process was taking the photos and finally giving it to its owner! If you click on the photo above, it will take you to my Flickr album where you can see photos of all the pages.

I also wanted to let you know that I closed my Artfire shop but am working instead on opening an Etsy shop. Of course, I’ll let you all know when that’s done. And if there’s something in particular that you like to see in there, feel free to let me know.

>Mini album with flaps – Mini album à panneaux

I have been working on this mini album for a while now. The pages are not all done so you only get to see the cover for now. I might still add embellishments to it too.
Last day of the year. It seems like time flew by for the most part. I don’t have too many regrets, thankfully.
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to read my blog. I hope the new year will bring you everything you deserve.

>Bo-Bunny mini album

This past summer, I found this fun mini album (Arrow mini edgy album by Bo-Bunny) with coordinating paper (Sophie by Bo-Bunny) and just had to have them. I love the arrow edges and thought they would be fun to play with. Thankfully, the paper pad has pre-cut papers to glue on the pages. I only had to punch holes through the paper and I sanded all the edges. The cover is an acrylic shape so I glued identical pieces of paper on both sides, to hide the glue. Now, I just have to decide how to fill it.
