>Manila envelope journal – Journal enveloppe de papier kraft

> My mother gave me a pile of used manila envelopes and asked me to turn them into journals. This is my first prototype. I had to cut the envelopes because some of them wear torn at the opening. They now measure 6 1/2″ x 9″. I only used five envelops in this journal because you can use both the front and back as well as tuck extra pages inside. I hadn’t done an accordion spine in a long time so I had a bit of trouble figuring out the measurements but in the end, it all worked out nicely. … Continue reading >Manila envelope journal – Journal enveloppe de papier kraft

>Winners – Gagnantes

> I love making journals out of recycled materials. The paper for the pages was leftover from previous journals. I used the box from marshmallow squares to make the covers.  Last week, I decided to have a giveaway for my 600th post. Since I only received 4 comments (one of which is from my mother,) I decided not to pick a name and to give a journal to each of them. My mom left a comment without participating but she can get custom journals any time she wants! So, Janet, CeeCee and Melissa, you are all winners! Let me know … Continue reading >Winners – Gagnantes

>Update on 365 – Mise à jour sur 365

> As it turns out, I am not able to create one journal per day but I still plan to make 365 journals in one year. So, some days will see more than one type of journal being constructed while other days will be about gathering materials and inspiration (I already have 4 books on making journals and books by hand.) Over the long weekend, I’ve managed to create 3 different models. Comme je m’y attendais, il m’est difficile de créer un journal par jour mais j’ai tout de même l’intention de faire 365 journaux en une année. Alors, certains … Continue reading >Update on 365 – Mise à jour sur 365

>Stitched paper journal – Journal de papier cousu

> Day 3 of 365 mini journals. The challenge was to make something out of paper without using scissors or glue and without writing on it. This was easy: I simply folded 5 sheets of copy paper in half, one sheet of decorative paper and stitched them all together with a piece of linen. I added a few beads to the linen for decoration. Don’t worry, I’m not going to only blog about my daily journal making! I have other things in the works too. Jour 3 de 365 mini journaux. Le défi était de faire quelque chose avec du … Continue reading >Stitched paper journal – Journal de papier cousu

>Cat inspired journal – Journal inspiré d’un chat

> Yesterday, I forgot to mention that in 365: A daily creativity journal there is an idea for each day, to help you get through your project. Day 1 was to make something that would fit in the palm of your hand. My mini journals from yesterday fit that criteria. For Day 2, the idea is to use your favourite animal as inspiration. Of course, I had to pick the cat. So I decided to create a journal from things that my cat loves to play with: cardboard from boxes, masking tape, feathers, string and yarn. The 20 pages are … Continue reading >Cat inspired journal – Journal inspiré d’un chat

>Christmas mini-book – Mini-livre de Noël

> In an effort to use the supplies I already have on hand, I decided to make some mini-books. I don’t know that I’ll be using all of them. I was thinking of trying to sell some of them eventually. This one I made for the holiday season. It measures 4 1/4″ by 8 1/2″. And in doing this book, I realized that I don’t have a lot of Christmas papers. Which was quite a surprise… Hope your weekend is filled with loveliness. Voulant me servir des fournitures que j’ai déjà sous la main, j’ai décidé de faire des mini-livres. … Continue reading >Christmas mini-book – Mini-livre de Noël
