> I have had these socks for way too long. They were warm and comfortable so I couldn’t part with them even when they became unwearable. So, inspired by Alisa Burke’s tutorial, I made some arm warmers. I turned the socks inside out to do this because frankly, it looked better than the outside and I stitched everything by hand. Continue reading >Project ReStyle #14

> Last week, I didn’t feel like coming up with a ReStyle. But this week, I had the perfect canvas, so to speak. A sturdy cylindrical box which used to hold green tea. Some paint, grunging up and embellishments later, I have a love container to hold pens, pencils and other writing tools. (I am having fun playing with my photos in Gimp!) Continue reading >Project ReStyle #13

> On Saturday, my mom gave me more jewelry to restyle including this set. I love the necklace as is but the earrings were a bit too big for my taste. So I turned one into a statement ring and the other one into a hair clip. I’m still working on my postcards for the swap and a few other things. If all goes well, I will have a special announcement at the end of the week. Continue reading >Project ReStyle #12

> This week, I decided to ReStyle a frame for one of my mother’s friends. A new paint job was all it needed. There are a few projects that I want to accomplish before the end of the month so I won’t be writing as much on here. I will still post every week day but I’ll keep it short. Hopefully, I’ll be able to share a few new things with you on April 1st! Continue reading >Project ReStyle #11

> This week, I decided to use the sleeves from the purple t-shirt from my ReStyle #6. And I made another necklace, this time with fringe. Very simple, this project took less than 30 minutes from beginning to end (I didn’t time myself but it really didn’t take long.) Continue reading >Project ReStyle #10

> While sorting through boxes of stuff in my mom’s studio, I found this little rooster from Fisher Price. I decided to turn him into a pendant. I drilled a hole on his back and then, using some beads and wire, transformed him. Now that I know how to use my father’s drill press (thanks mom!) I have new ideas popping in my head. Continue reading >Project ReStyle #9

> A very simple restyle this week. I used the sleeves from a favourite sweater that needed a lot of mending and turned them into leg warmers. Because this sweater is a light weight knit, I used my sewing machine instead of stitching by hand. Much easier. What I love about these warmers is that they are reversible! I am thinking of making cute embellishments to add with safety pins for different looks. And I’m still thinking of what I’ll create with the rest of the sweater. Continue reading >Project ReStyle #8
